Title: When the Proverbial hits the fan!
Post by: PhilRich on 09 December 2010, 19:48:55
My youngest steplad (32 going on 16!) has just come in throwing his toys out of the pram & shouting the odds again! >:(
This time he has apparently hit a patch of black ice 'at under ten miles an hour' (his words) & the 'Proverbial' in the shape of a streetlamp has hit the fan (after first going through the bumper, radiator, bonnet, offside headlight etc. etc.) I'm gutted for the car (very probably a right-off), which was an immaculate Saab 900 which me & swmbo have put our hands in our pockets to keep that way for several months now! He still hasn't been paid out by the Insurers for his last prang, which wasn't his fault admittedly, but he seems to think we are only there to pick up the pieces & have bottomless pockets! Don't get me wrong... I'm really relieved he's not hurt, though God Forgive me, i'm not sure if it's for the right reasons! His mam has shielded him & his brother from all the hard knocks of life & turned a blind eye because of the life they had with their Biological father, but she's done him no favours that's for sure! He still lives with us so the Atmosphere here will be considerably cooler than the weather for the forseeable future! If ever I catch whoever points the 'fickle finger of fate' he'll be wearing his balls for earrings  >:(

I had to save and buy all my own cars, and the first 2 I abused, then quickly learned to respect them, if I had have had my cars provided for me from mummy and daddy I doubt id have a decent car today or any of my hard earned belongings.

my sympathies go to you and the mrs, but please please make him buy his own from now on..
