Title: Cheats never prosper.
Post by: Amigo on 08 December 2010, 23:47:47
You may remember a few weeks back i sold my old Ford Classic on ebay for the reserve of £1200, listing a few minor faults. Turned out the buyer was a trader trying to turn it round for £2195 listing it as driving withut issue which it did but only just. I advertised it as a winter project, dynamo tired, throttle linkage bodged & a few other silly bits. He's mentioned none of them so i hope no one buys it thinking it's as peachy as my old 'Tina. It certainly was'nt taken in p/x. I don't begrudge him a profit, we all have to make a living but feel he was trying it on a bit & is worried now, Chrimbo approaching, in the new year the T&T won't have as long to run. Here's his new listing.

Plus he still has zero feed back so looks like no sales as yet.

If he is a new trader he will learn, buy cheap and sell cheap is the way to to make a quick profit at this time of year.

I've just mailed him about any known issues, and Dealers don't generally get feedback scores Skruntie and he has been a e-bay seller for a long time. :-/

Wait till the new year & offer him £300. Spend a few £ sorting the silly bits out & sell in April for £1500 plus when folk want a classic for the summer meets.
    Not far from me, if it has'nt sold i might just send a mate up for it!!! 8-)

Just had another reply, either the bloke's grammar checker isn't well or he types too fast for it to keep up!  ;D

Dear 1064philrich,

You've obviously got nothing better to do ... sad really. Especially have you have no idea what you talking about. So stop wasting yours and my time. DC

What a prat....

If all you asked him if there are any known issues and he responded like that...

I would be inclined to post a message asking him to clafiry the answer, so that all and sundry can see what kind of dealer he really is....

reminds me very much of Deluxe Cars in Swindon  (as of 12 years ago)...

Just asked;

Hi there,

Nice looking car, have only ever had Cortina's; any known mechanical problems with it and would I be able to jump into it and drive to Durham? in particular is the battery charging? coil and ht leads, radiator etc OK for a run.
Thanks
Mike
