Hello Everyone
Just thought I'd better say hi as its rude to have been away so long without so much as a postcard.
No reason for my prolonged absence, just had a load of things going on in my life and the internet kinda took a back seat.
Not much has changed, still working all the hours for Enterprise Rent a Car, still married to my beautiful wife, still got 5 kids and one grandkid, still have absolutely no money. Have moved house so im now just outside Boston in a little village called Donington (the birthplace of Matthew Flinders, without Googling it, who was he???) and I still have The Boys old tractor.
Cars been going pretty well lately, its now doing 40 miles on average daily, up from about 3 daily. It seems to have picked up this ign key locking fault that a few others on here have had but I honestly cant think of anything else thats gone wrong.
Tbh I only drive it at weekends for the most part as swmbo has begun calling it 'her' car so im relagated down to her, er, my Polo. But that is a hell of a lot more economical, just pretty unreliable at this present moment (needs a battery but they cost money so that aint happening any time soon)
So, thats me. Im going to make a real effort to get back on here a lot more reguarly as I miss you lot and the help and advice you dish out (sorry, just read that and it sounds a bit gay ;D ;D)
See you around
Wayne

Good to hear all is bubbling along in the world of Squealy. I, too, have started bumbling around in a smaller, more economical,
skip car -- makes sense these days.
Welcome back. ;)

Welcome back Wayne :y

You're return last night is spooky - yesterday morning, I was going through some photos of the tractor, and I was wondering if you still had it, and how it was going.
How many miles on it now?
The key - is it it won't turn in ignition? Follow the main guide :y. Is it better with one key than the other - could be wear on the key itself.

If I get time later, I will post up some tractor pics :)

Hi Jaime
Milegage now has just gone over 163,000. once I got the job at Enterprise I rarely did more than 50 miles in an average week although now ive moved thats creeped up to 200 miles weekly. Its time for its 2500 mile oil change actually.
With regards to the ign lock, its definitly the barrel, makes sod all difference what key I use. Sprayed a bit of silicon lubricant spray in there last weekend and (im told) it hasnt done it again since. I know this isn't going to stay this way but as long as it gets me through the silly season then im happy.
Has developed a very intermitant fault though. This has happened maybe 10 times in the past six months. Turn the key to start it and....nothing, nada, zilch. Not sure if its the ign switch or the starter solenoid as its too intermitant to find, but im just going to leave it for now till it gets a bit more troublesome.
Plus (now the old grey matters kicking in) since I replaced the O/S track rod end and had the tracking done it handles like a sack of poo. I really need to get it to WIM but trying to convince swmbo that we need to spend money on that rather than feed or clothe the kids may be asking a bit too much, I cant even tell her its wearing the tyres unevenly as its not. Its just that if you accelerate mid corner the car seems to ever so slightly change its trajectory. Not exactly confidence inspiring.
Took some pics of it a few weeks back just after I cleaned it, I'll try and post them up when I've downloaded them.
Thanks for the welcome back everyone, and Lee, you seemed like a nice bloke when we met, but im married, to a lady. Sorry bud ;D ;D ;D ;D ::) :-*

As promised. She looks a lot better in the pics. Front spoilers missing, still would love to replace it as it just makes it look like its sitting too high without it on there.
