Title: Christmas collection boxes in shops?
Post by: omegod on 14 December 2010, 14:29:51
Am I being too mean by asking why does every shop have a " Merry Xmas from all the staff" sign stuck to a collection box on the counter. One of the shops is staffed by the owner and his wife !!

I dont mind tipping for good service in restaurants when the staff are on the minimum wage but something about this ticks me off.

I work in health, should I put one on our reception desk? it is akin to begging if you ask me! >:(

I get fed up with all this preying on the public good nature by asking for money. >:(
Apart from being bombarded from the telly with requests to donate £3 a month to every charity on earth from NSPCC, RSPCA, Save the Tiger, Sponsor a Polar Bear, Save the Earthworm etc, etc, etc, etc, there are also piles of junk posted through the letter box usually containing a free pen, or half a dozen christmas cards. Must cost them a fortune in advertising which would be better spent on their cause. >:(

To sum up....You ain't getting a penny :y

I would take, saying Merry Xmas to the staff for collecting for their customers...
