Found this old GM press releases from 2001...
'Opel Omega With New 2.5-liter Six-Cylinder Turbo-Diesel
* 2.5 DTI 24V engine also available with new 5-speed automatic transmission

It was supposed to be the evolution of the BMW engine....i.e. the same lump with a new head and common rail setup.....but never made it to production.
TIS has loads of details on this power plant and even more on the v8.com...

..which one? the EPS? the 2.5DTI? definitely not the V8?
