Well done Boris. Maybe there is a recession but the fireworks were fantastic. You can't take the money with you. If folk are prepared to pay let them. ;D

I could see them from my flat  :) - Although I had to mute the BBC's coverage, their choice in music was appalling

I was in Covent Garden until about 10pm then had an almighty fight to get out due to road closures.  Very pleasant policeman whom we met twice as we lapped the area "Sorry.  We're from Harrow so can't tell you how to get out".  That despite the problem being that they had closed the roads.

Watched the fireworks on tele in the warm.  Very good in my opinion even though there's a recession on. :y

Yes I will agree with you there. It just didn't work IMO.

Otherwise, it was fab.  :y

it was the music played at the actual firework display T - i dont think the Beeb had a choice - did Sky News show it in silence or did they dub fake noises of fireworks on over the music? ;)

My ex sent me this earlier (she lives in Taipei) - almost 7 minutes of eye watering, wallet busting fireworks off the Taipei 101:
