I like the A8 and would love to own one. I can't see how the Passat could match it though :-?

Good question - one of the diesels.. wasn't it the biggest? (Which would make it the same as my colleagues)

700+something from a tank, wasn't it, in the show?

I think so.. I know very little about Audi's, mind (generally on account of their cost!)  :)

like wise, but even top of the range Audis eventually become affordable to the masses ...... like a £30 000 Omega has become.  :y :y

Indeed...I do not know all the details but my brother in law was telling me at Christmas that he had no choice to let his Quatro go because he could not replace the gearbox, he might have also meant refurb at a reasonable price, he was puddled at the time, suffice to say the maintenance costs were ott and unaffordable, so car scrapped.... ::) ::) ::)

Traveling that distance sounds good but, they do have a 90 litre fuel tank!

He used the 4.0 TDi, which is less efficient than the 4.2 TDi too :y Is this the same Di that, joined, left, joined again, left then joined again, left and has now joined again to tell us she's bought an Audi?

give me the 4.2 tdi and you will see its real consumption.. ;D  Audi A8 is really a heavy car and no way it will be economical when you hammer it
even its a disease(l) ;D

Yup, quite easy to tell!

I'm a fan of the A8 too, 4.2TDi is actually excellent on fuel, better than the Omega. Got an Audi dealer near work, been in there few times, the A8 cabin is a lovely place to be, I love the centre console gear shift area, everything is where you think it would be!
