Title: Santander. Credit where credit's due.
Post by: Richgm on 04 January 2011, 18:38:18
For once I'm giving a big thumbs up to my bank  :y
I suddenly realised yesterday that my debit card expired on the last day of 2010.
I rang them up at 5.02pm according to the log on my phone. This afternoon I received a replacement :o
I still can't work out how they got it to me that fast but well done to them  :y

If it expired, a replacement would have already been dispatched. You should not need to manually request it each time. So as this is the first day back for some, and first day for post, i'd say it was delayed

Bumbling bungling OAFs. The mother in law had no end of trouble as Alliance and Leicester were "migrated". In other words it didn't work.

I am still waiting for my replacement Spanish Bank card after I was cloned in France somehow. The clerk said a week. Now coming up for 3. In the meantime I filled up with fuel and had to use my Uk credit card as I had forgotten hadn't got my new bank card. Worse was to come . the petrol station took THREE payments out trying to make their machine work. "Don't worry we will refund you". Ye right. Not the exchange rate charges or credit card fees.

I hate Spanish banks. Avoid at all cost. They charge the earth.

When I spoke to the guy at the bank his first statement was that it should have been issued on 1st November. He also confessed that there had been numerous calls from people who's cards should have been sent on the same day. It appears that some sort of fault meant the cards were not sent but the system registered them as being sent.

Ok so it's not great that I didn't get the card in the first place but the time taken to replace it is  :y

Varche, I was with A&L too. I can't say I've had any problems with the migration. I don't know if that makes me lucky or you unlucky but I do hope you get your problems sorted soon.

i've delievered a few xmas cards today, many dating back to around the 13th, one even dating back to 7th

it never amazes me the amount we get that are incorrectly addressed, or incompletely addressed, or just completely wrongly addressed, and they complain when they're undelivered!!!

people cant be that close friends if they dont even know where they live!

My details have been passed to their "Enforcement Team", because i keep ignoring their letters asking if my circumstances have changed (if i have a TV or not).
I don't have a TV & it's nothing to do with them :P

I fell out with Abbey / Santander years when they ballsed my mortgage up, so I moved it to Bradford & Bingley. Needless to say who took B&B over.  >:(

I fancy getting rid of the TV just to have another battle with them.  [smiley=evil.gif] There was a period when I didn't have one. Now, if they'd sent me a polite letter reminding me that I didn't have a license and that, if I had a TV, would I mind purchasing one, it would have been fine.

The barrage of strongly worded letters and phone calls basically accusing me of being a criminal prompted me to take a different stance, though, and I made sure I wasted as much of their time as I could. >:(
