Title: Gerry rafferty dies!

Just heard on the News, Gerry Rafferty has died aged 63! :(

That's a shame, he did some memorable stuff, like Baker Street and City to City. I met him at a friends house when I was a fresh faced student in Glasgow, a few years ago !.

I've just dragged out the 12 string, blown off the dust and ......

Unfortunately Magic FM used to go through phases of playing Baker Street every half hour or so.  Any song played that often gets on your nerves but I used to enjoy it and it is certainly melodic.

A sad loss.  Not least because he was part of my past.

I was doubly saddened when I read his obituary , he was another man who was saddled with demons all his life it seems.

Baker Street alone paid him £80k a year in royalties still to this day  :o

reminds of when Don MacLean was asked what his song "American Pie" meant, he replied "It means I never have to write another song"

Steve Harleys son told me similar about "come up and see me", apparently it provides a nice regular income after all these years.
