.....war veteran, farmer and author of many wonderful animal-character stories that delighted a generation of young and old; including the book, "The Sheep-Pig" (that inspired the film "Babe").

Good lord.. and it's only the fifth of the monthyear! How many famous folks is that so far?  :(

I get to watch all the kiddies films as I have two little 'uns, I have to say I enjoyed Babe a lot

Does seem to be a prolific month for deaths so far though   :(

I always remember his excellent book 'The Fox Busters' a great read
