Hi All,
Well, I've done the dirty and chopped in my Omega for an Audi - first impressions indicate that I have a worthy successor but I was sad to see the old car go, that's for sure (expecting comments about numb handling etc.)
I guess this brings to an end around 9 years of Omega ownership; first a 2.5CD estate and then the 3.2 Elite Estate I've been running for the last few years. A few comments:
- Great cars; have served me and my family well and never left us stranded (only times they haven't been drivable were battery issues at home). Can't ask more than that.
- Great fun too; especially the 3.2 with the Bose...
- Great forum; I've been very passive here, I don't have that much time socially on-line, but I've been reading the forum regularly since I joined and it has helped he on numerous occasions. I've also enjoyed all the characters and the fact that a group of people with nothing more than a type of car to connect them form such a brotherhood/sisterhood. Even the traumas are fun from a distance. I suspect there is no similar environment for Audis; I perceive the typical owner to be somewhat different.....
So I just wanted something more up to date, but I wish you all many more happy miles onboard the Omegas...
...and I probably wont cancel my account just yet.
Cheers,
John Mack.
PS. The only thing left is a set of Europe wide 2007/8 sat nav disks ;)

I wish you well with your new car. Potential issues to look out for are front suspension components and chocolate gearboxes. Oh, and tthe dealers ;D
Otherwise, good little runners - Mrs TheBoy's dad has a 280,000 A4 1.9 TDi (130bhp variant), engine still pulls good, and returns good economy.

Well done on the new car Mack - hope you enjoy it. :y
Good to hear that you're keeping your account open. 8-) :y

A6 is a nice car, will probably look for a v6 tdi to replace the mig when the time comes

Yep, I picked a V6 TDi, even has Bose like the Miggy... but should go a bit further on a tank of fuel....
