Del Boy mentioned the other day about wrecking his BMW's suspension on a pot hole.
Well today I have been driving around a bit locally and pot holes have now started to multiply!! :o :o :o
One of our local roads (Clockhouse Del) had a large section renewed after last years (2009/10) bad weather, but now pot holes, some horribly large, have opened up again. Indeed everywhere I have been I have seen pot holes, some quite small (at the moment) but others growing large. One (Oxenturn Road, Wye) was the deepest I have ever seen, and judging by the debris around it was still being 'excavated' by a number of asleep drivers.
With all the cuts now being applied I dread to think what our roads will be like in two months time once the constant freeze / thaw process has had its horrible effect, with heavy vehicles doing the rest!! >:( >:( >:(

Know what you mean Lizzie, it's a bloody nightmare again! As well as main roads, I also have to use a lot of country roads and villages on my daily commute to work and these roads are becoming a menace to the motorist. >:(

If you think its bad for cars, just think of Tunnie and me on our bikes!!!
We have to play "SWERVIE"

I can imagine SS that if you don't play "SWERVIE", it is "LIFTIE"...........................right off your seat over the handlebars!! :o :o :o :D ;)

Newtown Road LZ massive hole on the side heading towards McDonalds, just before the bridge, that's whats killed the big beemers suspension. I mean it hugely rattles around now, must get some pictures of it, it is massive. It was either avoid the pothole and get hit by a bus, or suffer the consequences of the pothole, the bang it made was unreal :(

Also Liz you'll see one getting steadily worse by St.Simons school. They really are all over Ashford at the minute >:( >:(

OMG!! That is a bad place for a pot hole Del!! :o :o :o :o
As you say, avoid the pot hole and get clobbard by approaching traffic, or hit the pot hole!! :o :o Bloody Ashford Borough Council!! >:( >:( And they waste money on a giant 'park & ride' scheme!!! Why the hell, when they cannot even repair the roads!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

dont worry, we pay lots and lots of road tax and fuel tax
they'll all be taken care of!!

Its the samr here. The roads werent properly repaired last time (nor properly maintained for years before that) so a couple of weeks of bad weather has caused them to fall apart again. The so called cuts will no doubt be used as a convenient excuse by the councils who have been awash with money for years and wasted most of it.
I actually saw a news report yesterday about this which said it would get worse because "the councils have had their roads budgets cut severely". Councils dont have their roads budgets cut, they can have their grant from central Govt. cut, but it is then up to them how to spend their(our) money more effeciently and use it more effectively.
A Sixstring says, it can be an expensive nuisance in a car, but on a bike it can be lethal as well.

Well the tractors going and im going for a disco or car like it

all part of the big money saving plan.
the roads will become so bad that everyone will have to drive at 15mph unless they like damage to there vehicle/person.
traffic calming schemes will not be required.
pollution reduced due to lower speeds will be achieved.
lower major accident rate= lower costs to nhs.
road paint markings will become unnecessary due to drivers making there own lanes.
utility firms will have a head start when it comes to digging up the road.
pedestrian casualties will be dramatically reduced as no bugger will dare venture in the road.
honest. ::)

It's alright for you lot. I've MV6 "glass" alloys that so far are'nt buckled & the roads in Immingham are mashed.
Might use the Cortina for a while, tough as old boots! ::)
