Although now living over here in Ireland I have a UK Sky system and enjoy watching UK TV all the time .
Recorded a programme on BBC4 Friday night ,Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers , which is a four hour documentry on the band .
I tranfered the HDD recording to disc last night only to find that the Sky box was set to go into standby after 2 hours >:( so I've only got half the programme. :'(
Anyway , I can't get i player over here as the site recognises that I'm not in UK and blocks access.
I've tried the proxy server route but not had any success and all my reletives back in Scotland aren't PC literate enough to do what I want.
Can anyone do me a huge favour and record the programme on to disc from PC and send it over ?
I'll gladly pay all costs incurred .
This is the second disaster I've had with this programme as when it was first broadcast I recorded it onto our new HDD recorder and then promptly erased it when I was editing the 6 hour recording down to the four I wanted .. :-[

have you tried torrents?

suspect this thread is border line, as we cannot really discuss this. But Google iPlayer ouside UK, there are many methods for watching it in Ireland ;)
I used to have a method of downloading raw .avi files straight from iPlayer, but the BBC has recently changed the iPhone iPlayer to use an HTTPS connection for part of the process. This requires the client to offer an Apple-signed client certificate as part of the connection. This has always been the case for the iPad version, but the iPhone change is new.
So its either torrents, or research the by-pass for geographical constraints :y

And, of course, set your sky box not to go into standby after two hours.

That's a total joke to appease the "greenies" anyway. My Sky box consumes exactly the same amount of energy in standby as it does when on. ;D
