when buying car parts, a lot of info is gained from giving your reg no.

i know some basic info can be gained thru websites like the dvla/direct gov, but where can you get more detailed info like the parts suppliers have like engine code and vin no without being ripped off on the tinternet?

Basically anyone who has the latest and fully up-to-date Tech2 software with access to the Vx database .. :)
