Title: post count WHAT DOES IT MEAN
Post by: r1 on 22 January 2011, 16:36:32
i see that some boys and girls are getting upset about loseing there post count.
now i dont understand why they are bothered.
does it make them a worse person? NO
are they banned? NO
do you get more from the forum if you have a higher number of posts? NO
The only down side i can see is that you cant post in the for sale section, but if you are active on here you will soon get that back up.

Spot on :y

Once the minimum is achieved for posting in the 'for sale' section, that's as far as it goes.

As for the 'Kings and Knights' malarky, it may even be a bit mis-leading to a newbie as they may think the ranking is an indication of technical knowledge.

If you lose your post count through being cheeky or touching an admin's nerve this is usually done in a humorous vein & said count is usually reinstated within a week or two. I lost mine 10.000 by leaving (does'nt matter why now) & re joining & much as i did'nt think they'd matter to me they did. I tried for a while to get them back but gave up & accepted they were gone. A while later they reappeared. I can only guess who put them back hence i removed my caravan avatar as a thankyou. It would'nt matter to many folk but i joined OOF within a year of it's infancy...2/3 months before the first Lakesmeet? & since as well as being a total gobshite on the screen have attended many (not all) meets, helped stage/promote York & had 3 here at home (invasions). I've become friends with folk here who am in touch with off screen as well as on so i suppose whilst it may seem trivial my post count is like a fully stamped service book.
Once again i have an apology to make. This time it's to Nickbat for my comment on his BBC Biased post where i suggested the Guardian were long winded & this was hardly news......

Think i've just won two red roses for waffling on, reckon i've even put the Independant to shame so hands up nick, opps, gotta go, the editor is running towards my desk & he does'nt look happy!!! ::)

its purely a humour thing r1, only ever meant in jest between certain members and certain mods :y

so its a elite[see what i did there] ism is it?

so if i get this right, on a public forum there is a inner circle that have a falling out then the other members cant find out what they did .......

If there is, it's of no benefit. It appears 'inside' is not a good place to be.  Safer on the outside  :y

Maybe but i don't think this forum is at all clicky. I can fall out with new or old members.
