Title: Omega name
Post by: Bent valve on 25 January 2011, 18:01:48
It just struck me, did Vauxhall name the Omega after the last letter of the Greek alphabet because the Omega was to be the last rear wheel drive Vauxhall to be produced, or is it just a spooky coincidence :-/

A little digging provides an answer...

Opel basically stole the name 'Omega' from the GM family car 'Oldsmobile Omega' produced during the 70's.

Yes, top film! But wasn't it Wil Smith in 'I Am Legend' who drove a Mustang? The same film re-made under the original book title... :y

Heston picks up a Mustang part way through the film - I can't remember what he was driving in the beginning, though.. I want to say a Merc, but I could be getting that confused with something else. Maybe it was a Charger/Challenger?
