Title: Road trip
Post by: Elite Pete on 26 January 2011, 12:14:36
I'm going on a little trip tomorrow to collect a car from the East side of Londinium, i'll be going M6, M1, M25, A12 there approx 200 miles and 3.5 hours according to the AA. On the way back i'll be using an A frame to tow a car so was thinking A12, M11, M6 approx 217 miles and 4 hours. Anyone got any advice?

TIA

That's probably the route that I'd take too, especially as you'll have a car in tow.

Should be okay, so long as the M25 doesn't turn into the world's largest car park! >:(
Early start Pete?

I didn't think you were still allowed on the motorway towing on an A frame

Pete, have radio2 on the radio, and if the 25 is borked just go down the M1 all the way and go round the north circ, far quicker than the m25 to the 12,

Daecide on the way back when you have listened again to the
travel news!! :y

I believe such an undertaking is known colloquially as "going down south".......watch out for the well known "down in the smoke" hazards of singing chimney sweeps, dancing pearlie Kings and Queens and roads choked with chirpy barrow-boys plying their wares. ;D

Have a safe and productive trip, Pete! :y

Pack/make up your own sandwiches and flask of coffee/tea, as services prices have rocketed over the last few weeks for food and drinks.

Came up from South last week, stopped off at the M5's Sedgemoor services (one of my favourite stops).  And couldn't beliave that basically for one round of sandwiches it's nearly £4 now :o >:(

Best way into East London is straight down to the bottom of the M11, you can pick North Circ  A406, A12 or A13 from there.

Edit, unless of course your going east of M25, then M25 / A12.

My advice is...... dont bother. It sounds like it cant be very far from where Im sat, so tell me where it is and I will go and get it instead . :y :D ;D............if your near the M25 anywhere near rush hour, avoid it. It like a big circular car park. ;)
