Yet again we have another cop show coming to our screens, but instead of a new name and just trying to make a half decent show for what it may be?. They've gone and used an old TV name (Hawaii Five-O) to sell the show.
Okay so young viewers having nothing to compare it to, so they'll be okay.
But come on, use some imagaination with a fresh name for goodness sake ::).
And what's the bet that all the males will be young toned six-packed, with the women looking like they've been born in a beauty saloon!.
So when do we expect a new version of Starskey and Hutch, Hill Street Blues, Car 54, Cannon (diet version no doubt ::) ), Chips, 240 Robert, ............

the worst remake for me was knight rider.
just awful.
the thing with shows now is that there is no atmosphere in them.... they try to replace a great show with toned bodies and cute smiles...............................but maybe im getting old. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I vote for more US shows with toned, taut female bodies in skimpy clothing and... ohh there I go again.
-
I never really thought all that much of Hawaii 5-0. Lovely setting mind, but not much more to it really.
Now, really original stuff like The Wire, that's honks my horn.

now you're talking - astonishingly good series - just wish we had something half as good instead of all the heartbeat/casualty/the bill rubbish :(

i tend to agree - US output is vastly superior Richie (well the good stuff is light years better than ours) :y

NO!.......most of our TV is awful, but "The thick of it" made up for all of its crimes. The yanks could never make a programme like that. ;)
-
Nothing wrong with Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes
-
Along with In The Thick Of It you can also include Red Riding, The Office, The Inbetweeners and Life On Mars, although that's a pretty poor list off the top of my head. Mad Dogs looks very promising though.
And for all of the sometimes excellent films that come out of the States, I just don't think they could ever make something as brilliant as Withnail and I or Life of Brian either.
