i was gutted yesterday when he got beat - but i'm very impressed with how hes handling the disappointment - easily one of the best players on the planet, he can beat anyone on his day - hopefully he'll win a slam one day but if not, as he says its not the end of the world :y

When he wins.....a great British player :y.......Such a shame that the Scot was not up to the job BJ.. ::) ::) ;)

And that I am afraid to say is the difference between British sportsmen and women, and those 'winners' of other countries like the USA and Russia. To them not winning is like the end of the world, and that is what they play to avoid. ;)

i think to be fair to AM, he broke down in tears after last years final defeat to a guy he usually beats (Federer) - and I think he's making a conscious effort to chill a bit :y
-
i personally always support his opponent. he's scottish! i'm english. and he's made it quite clear he dont like the english, therefore ill never ever support him. :)

Yep, someone said once, 'Show me a good loser, and I'll show you a loser'
I didn't hold my breath this time either :(

But Murray is a Scotsman. In it for the money.

He didn't get his mitts on the winner's prize pot. It'd make any Scot cry! ;) ;D ;D

His game plan is all wrong - he tries to slug it out on the baseline all the time and doesn't go to the net often enough.
He says thats how he plays the game and he'll stick with it (stubborn so & so); that will work playing lesser class players but when he plays the class players (nadal/federer/djokovitch) more often than not he comes unstuck.
He has the skill and class to win a major but he needs to change his game plan.

He,s a miserable little sh1t, he deserves to lose. ;) :D

For crying out loud, not this again. The comment he made was a joke during some banter that the press latched onto and blew totally out of proportion, he and plenty of other people have tried to explain this so many times it's ridiculous. Stop believing everything the papers tell you for heaven's sake.
Besides, he happens to be a Wolves supporter via his work with John Lloyd. Explain how you can hate the English and follow an English footie club?
-
yes but bluey you miss the point.... even if he doesnt hate the english he's still scottish!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D

its just an excuse - he could say what he likes if he was english, he could be as dull and miserable as they come (Tiger Tim anyone?) - hes a snarly, loud-mouthed scot who constantly belittles the precious All England Club - the blazers dont like him, the press doesnt like him and the sheep follow.
Brilliant player - hope he wins Wimbledon although if i was a betting man I'd say US Open is his best shot :y
-
I'm glad he lost!! He's miserable and arrogant. How dare he even suggest that he might not pay the appropriate respect to our Queen.

Is that 'our' England, Scotland, Wales or Norn Irn? Or the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland?
Webby, you are a recent member here. I would counsel to engage brain to mouth before going down the Merry England route, as has been done by Scots, Welsh Irish etc previously.
We (OOF) have a wide UK and International audience..... ;)

sorry hotel21; i was merely trying to point out that being english certainly wouldn't mean that he'd be exempt from scrutiny with regards to his ''off-pitch'' comments. :)
ps ''new member''???? check my status....i'll have you know i'm ''senior'' on this site!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D
(that was a joke!) :)

Once again i won't argue as i could'nt care less about tennis/ cricket or any other terribly sorry old boy, I am a little tired inducing waste of time.
I'd rather spend said seasons tinkering with my Cortina & attending related shows/rallies where folk actually do something. ::)
-
thats a good point about the shows amigo...
i dont know whether its of interest to you but in n'pton we have an awsome annual american car show... theres literally every american car you can get. thats how im well in to my mustangs :y :y :y :y
