i thought they might cop it for the Mexican jokes
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-12338053
"Clarkson said he was confident he would not receive any complaints about their comments because the Mexican ambassador would be asleep."
ooops - someone must've woken him up :-X
-
The Mexican ambassador should be grateful that Clarkson & co didn't go the whole hog....and reveal that most Mexicans are drug-crazed murderers. ;D
-
can always rely on top gear to say what most people think. theres always someone got the hump no matter what you say, being race, joke, religion or something that doesnt even concern them at all, in this case the ambassador ;D ;D

sorry mr ambassador for waking you up offending your hard working people.

I hope not ;D
seriously many people around the world like their programmes and their silly jokes sometimes.. ;D
but understanding of humour changes from country to country ;D :-/

i think we're (as in british people) the most humorous.
look at american comedy....... generally obvious observational ''good clean fun''.
then look at frankie boyle. pure complex genius.
in my opinion of course :)

humor depends how you handle the life, your habits , culture etc.. this ambassador could look the things from a more general point of view and could answer them in a humourly fashion :-/ but instead take their speech as an insult.. thats wrong.. but on the other side these show makers must take into account that different countries are different and some people dont understand humour.. :(

I agree, but the Ambassador was probably pissing himself laughing when/if he watched it. The complaint has more than likely been raised to show professionalism from a country which is not best known for it's 'correct' way of doing things.
-
yeah good point mate...
maybe his inability to find humour in the funny things said by TG is a reflection on how he actually views his own people....
e.g. if TG wasn't correct in their humorous generalisation there wouldn't be the backlash from the embassy? :o ;D ;D ;D ;D
either way its important for everybody involved to think how it affects them and remember that top gear rule!!!! ;D ;D :D ;D ;D

trust me when the temperatures exceed 35 celcius none of the countries on earth try correct way of things, at least me ;D ;D

.....
I could think of another word to describe him, & I used it way, way, before he made the press with his so called humour! :-?
ends with ker and begins with wan

He;s Mexican too, but it's spelled 'Juan' :P
-
hahaha andy b, why for you no like frankie?
-
For once i'm not going to lock horns with anyone here regarding what humour is or is'nt in good taste.
Top Gear tell it like it is, no arguing with the truth.
-
haha i never vsaid frankie was tasteful ;D ;D ;D ;D
the fact hes not is why i love him ;D ;D
-
Boyle is a rubbish version of Jerry Sadowitz.
And well done to the Mexican Ambassador for making sure thirty seconds of Top Gear will be played over and over again and more and more people will repeat the jokes. Really bright move, that. ;)

exactly.... thats what complaintees dont realise... eg frankie boyles joke about rebecca adlibgton. nobody would remember it if people hadnt got involved and said it was wrong!
-
Yup, the quip about her wasn't that bad, some people just have to jump up and come over all self-righteous though, don't they?

At last. A like mind. I was getting worried the whole world had a sense of humour block. Sorry but just about every joke/comment/quip over the years that has made the press for offending folk i've found hilarious. Why? Because i'm able to distinguish humour from reality.
Something sadly lacking with the majority nowadays. Guy. ::)
-
totally agree bluey.
at the end of the day theres loads of 'dark comedy' out there. if you start picking at it there will be no such thing as dark comedy and everyone will be forced to watch lee evans for their comedy (good but bit too clean ;D ;D ;D
-
If some people think Boyle is offensive then they'd probably have a siezure over Sarah Silverman!
-
sarah silverman. whos that?
-
Oh, just a young lady from America who's jokes can be particularly cutting at times.
-
hehehe ill check her out mate :y :y :y
