I notice it takes the Granny to get stuck in before anyone else does ...was that 3 or four of them that tried to get on that scooter.... ;D

Struth - just what might have happened if anyone of these thugs actually had a brain cell between them.. :o

Absolutely brilliant, and good to see everyone else diving in too.....

I know that jewellers in Northampton, bought 2 watches from there a few years back whilst living in the town

Cant believe they were cocky enough to try it in broad daylight, where were the Police.......??

She was brave but completely defenceless, if just one of that gang had decided to swing one of those hammers at her, as most junkie scum wouldn't hesitate to, she would have left her family without a much-loved mother, grandmother, sister etc. Brave, yes - but stupid if you ask me

If that had been my mother I'd be feeling more than a bit sick now

Something doesn't quite add up with that video clip.

My brothers (jewellery) shop has suffered armed robbery, one of his staff (a more 'mature' lady saw them off).  Different values between generations methinks...

its a strange one. as said if one of those idiots had turned nasty it would have been a different story.

i agree brave.... but definitely stupid.

if i had a shop and it gets robbed by armed men, they can nick the lot. lifes more important than a single act of bravery/heroism.

I agree, she is old skool.... :y  Younger people would either ignore as nothing to do with them or pass by because they may be fearful of getting into trouble themselves for assault or something similar, sad times we are heading into, in my opinion and experience.... :(

As I said in the other thread about this, if they had shoved the granny to the ground, or just kicked f**k out of her they would be slated by the press, 'coward gang beat old lady'. It shows they have (some) morals in not retaliating.

Also,  nobody else wanted to go up against six armed thugs to protect insured luxury jewellery is not surprising and nothing to be[ch65279] ashamed of.

But when an old lady had put her self in harms way, most people (including the cameraman ) reacted immediately and ran to her aid.

Which is exactly how it should be.

I would have had no qualms about piling in aggressively, and I'm not talking bravado here either theives really get me mad.   >:(

I dont care if it is insured, if people think they can get away with stuff like that then where will they stop?

They were using heavy hammers which are slow to move and easy to neutralise so my gut reaction would be to T-Bone one of them Terry Tait style as hard as I could and bury my shoulder deep in to his stomache making sure he could not get up from being winded/cracked ribs and then make a start on the rest.  Hopefully by then other members of the public would have joined in ::)  but I doubt it :(

DaveElite - Twice in this thread that you have ignored forum guidelines regarding the masking of explicatives.

Cease and desist, please.  We have no formal 'warning' system on OOF as we hope that folks are mature enough to act their age rather than their shoe size.  Irrespective of that, consider this a personal warning from me as one of the moderation team.
