hi all as per title my engine light has come on on my mg zs has anyone local to me got a code reader to plug in will happily pay for your time :y its a 2004 1.8 petrol thanks

I think the fault codes are all written on the boot lid aren't they?

I suppose I should try and be helpful as well. If it uses a generic (OBDII) diagnostic system and it's something you want to read I would recommend buying a cheap one. I have a cable and free software here but it's so cheap the journey would be more expensive. Then if the codes are manufacturer-specific you need to find a listing somewhere to interpret for MG.

bit embarrassing really i left the lambda sensor unplugged whilst fitting a new heatshield ;D

yes all sorted didnt need a code reader in the end spotted the lambda was unplugged whilst doing a oil change plugged it back in and all is well and no eml on dash :y

The one in my tomcat was fine, head gasket wise to be fair. I just didnt ever feel like taking it very far from my house on a really hot day. Something always at the back of my mind telling me not to bother

The one Rover I wished Id had before they all died was the rover sterling... dont know why but it was always calling me to come and get one but I never did :-?

my mrs used to have the 825 sterling was a nice car she had it for 3 years of faultless motoring always regretted selling it
