Ok it's an achievement of sorts but heartbeat? between breaths? traffic vibration?
I thought my classic car & obsolete diecast collecting was nerdy. ::)

That is very impressive! :y :y :y :y
What next, and engraving on the side of an atom? :D :D :D ;)
-
WHY ?!! :-/ ::)

I saw this in the news too - impressive.. I have enough trouble writing on a sheet of paper legibly, let alone on the edge of a razor blade ;)
I also remember seeing something about the world record for the amount of writing written on one 'side' of a grain of rice - which spanned into the thousands of letters.
As for engraving atoms, well.. we already make nano machinery constructed out of individually positioned single atoms, and you can get the complete text of the New Testament on a single 5mm x 5mm (that's 1/4" square to you folks ;)) silicon tablet..

There was a Richard Hammond programme on a few weeks back where they wrote the programme name on a human hair. It was several orders of magnitude smaller than this but a computer (or two) did it.
