May have come down in price now though :y

I have been looking at ways to justify the price for some time now, alas, I cannot  :'(

I have just had a troll around some sites and I think it will be nearer £3000 by the time you get software and radio :y

Can't you get Auntie Betty to buy one for you for "battlefield monitoring" purposes?

Ahh, well I didn't say I was off to get my cheque book. Anyway, buying one off the shelf would be no fun. I'd like to build one, and develop the control software. Hmm. I wonder how many I'd lose while debugging it? ::)

I like the iPhone based one as it displays real time on a screen. So there's none of the usual left is left while driving away, but left is right when driving back toward the pilot, if you see what I mean.

And by "like" I mean, it looks like a good idea, without having used it personally.

Yes I've seen posts re crane driving, but what is the cause of the pain? ciatica? Slipped disc? DDD? Compressed vertebrae? (mine are last two)

Did you get a scan in the end?

There are a few open source quadrocopter designs out there

http://uavp.ch/moin/FrontPage

http://code.google.com/p/quaduino-ng/

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1066119

http://aeroquad.com/

All you got to do is find the time to build it .

That last one, aeroquad, motors look to be about $14 each,  http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=5691

Doesn't look expensive  ;)

Certainly shifts doesn't it  :o .

Wonder if it was scaled up, if it would be as quick.

Seems more stable with multiple blade rotors, surprised the military hasn't looked into something like this  :-?

Did you get a scan in the end?

Pain was initially diagnosed as a "Slipped Disc", although what had actually happened was my spine had twisted slightly at one of the joints, trapping the nerve (which is basically all a slipped disc is ;)), since it has been realigned I have abrasion in the Facet Joints, basically the disc is still a little squashed so vertebrae are too close together.

It will all heal but just have to give it more time... The Chiropractor and the Doctor were both surprised I felt fit for work after "only" 9 weeks and have hinted that I may well need at least another month/6 weeks :(
