yep.. its been long time.. :(
-
Yep, I believe he came to the same conclusion as Nick, which imo is very unfortunate in both cases.
-
I hope they will change their idea soon.. :(
-
Anyone heard from Debs?
-
moved to a new house.. had problems with adsl.. :-/

He pm'd me yesterday and told me that he's fed up with you lot. I don't blame him, winkers. ;D
EDIT: He is especially fed up with Albs. ::)

Zulu often takes a sabbatical for a few weeks/months......don't know why he would be in a huff because Nickbat left - personally, I thought Darth was having a go at me as I never attend meets and I'm always arguing....but then I'm quite thick-skinned and couldn't give two hoots ;)
Darth's rant about OOF was a pretty good one, maybe Zulu thought (wrongly) it had merit.
It didn't.
It's a public forum, make it a clique if you don't like it :y
but maybe its nothing to do with anything other than ill health or boredom or exasperation or all three :o
but yeah, hes definitely one of the good guys, cem - i miss his thoughts :(
and Nickbats too, while we're on the subject - we agreed on little, but he was nearly always the poster i looked for first - unafraid to stand up to accepted wisdom, which is a good thing :y

I always miss Zulu when he goes on his sabaticals :'(
Debs is probably busy with lambing season, she'll be back once the daffoldils have withered :y

Indeed Albs, unfortunately they both got the huff over what was happening on here and decided to move on. However Nick and Zulu have viewed the OOF but not contributed :'( :'( :'(.
They will both be back I'm sure. They just needed a rest :y :y
-
Had enough of the poisonous atmosphere,is what I heard. :(
-
Yep , I've been in contact with NB but I wont divulge what was said , suffice to say I think he was villified for his beliefs by a certain few on here.
As for Zou Lou I think you only have to read his very subtle and diplomatic comments on a certain thread to come to a conclusion.
I for one will miss their contributions greatly.
-
I would echo all of the above. :y
-
I personally dont blame them, some of the comments made by those in disagreement with their views were very personal and unnecessary. I have been on the receiving end of some myself. As a result I often think twice about joining some debates, the number of times I write a response and delete it without posting does not bear mentionning.
Civilised debate is one thing some people, not everyone, on here are incapable of. That said I like it on here because there are many on here who I enjoy the e-company of :y

He's online now ;)
It's very sad that both Zulu and Nickbat have taken the course of action they have... I didn't particularly enjoy all the environmental posts but just missed them out :y
We didn't always agree, but we managed to keep it polite and civil :y :y

Thats it, thats what people need to do!
Not everybody is always going to agree with everything everyone says, sometimes if its not an opinion that others share. Sometimes you get it rammed down your throat along with a snide comment.
This forum is full of very opinionated people maybe if a few of them thought a little more about other peoples opinions before they posted then things would be better.
Not everyone likes the sames things, reads the same paper, buys the same shoes and thinks the same way as you do.
Having said all of that tho, I enjoy the adult conversation that goes on in this site. You will always get people that take the moral high ground on subjects thats because they feel so strongly about it. Which I think is healthy for a forum.
Considering that the average age of most users of this site is somewhat higher then other Vauxhall forums I have been on, I do consider things to sometimes, dare I say it? get a little bit petty on here! :D

Which is normally easy to do as they had "climate" inserted into the title, so folks could avoid the threads if not interested. :y
Which is why I dont really get it when people moan about the existence of such threads. ;)

Absolutely. :y....... imo this comes from frustration of not being able to "win" the debate when someone sooooooo wants to "win" it. ;)

But this has also worked in reverse, which it will in "adult" debates! :D :D :D :D ;)

Absolutely BJ, but it seems Nick is linked to why Zulu is not still on board, which is a great shame!! ::) ::) ::) :'(

no offence to NB intended ;)

Whilst it may be frustrating for some - I haven’t been far.
I wasn’t planning to contribute until I’d sorted my own thoughts, which I haven’t fully done up to the moment, but I think this post-mortem isn’t necessarily in the interests of the forum – which is after all bigger than any one it’s constituent parts. (Although this fact may well be a surprise for certain members)
Contrary to what some may believe I didn’t have a ‘huff’ as a result of the treatment Nick received last week. I didn’t like it though; I would consider him a valuable member whose contributions have lifted the standard of debate here immeasurably.
I decided to re-examine my own position here as it appeared to me, at least, on aggregating the comments up to that point last week (and analysing the replies of others to some of my own contributions) that I was probably the problem, rather than any those members who apparently found my posting to be arrogant, high-handed, misconceived (in the light that this is, after all, a car forum) or generally a pain in the arse.
I have said many times before I’m not here to cause rancour and I have no agenda being here other than for the enjoyment I receive from the contributions of all the membership.
Bearing that in mind, when it came to my attention that some of the threads I was involved with were causing problems with those members who could not ignore them then the solution was quite obvious to me – stop posting, as I certainly don’t wish to cause stress to others as a result of my own behaviour.
It is up to me to address my interaction with the forum – not the obverse and that’s the main reason I quit posting. I was always the solution to the problem not the cause of it.
I will be happy to deal with those of you who consider me to be a problem by way of PM – as I can’t do so face to face because I’m stuck in an inhospitable part of the nation at the moment but more so because I, like some others, do tend to call the spade a spade when it’s necessary and an exchange on these terms on an open board would not be in the interests of the forum in general.
The forum experienced some difficulties last week - not for the first or last time I would imagine but it will continue to be the premier site for those who have found something deeper and more meaningful than the mere fact that a certain type of car is the reason why most of us are on here in the first place.

Welcome back Den. :y
Cold tonight innit? D'yer think that'll be global coolin or wha? ;D
-
I still love you Zulu :y
Saying that I purposely haven't read the thread about the forum changing, purely for the fact that I knew there would be a disagreement in there somewhere. I may go and read it now though for a bit of gossip ;)

Nicely said, Zee :y

Not sure at what or whom your refering to Sir Zulu but for me you are one of my Icons in this Forum. You are fair, put a brilliant letter together explaining your thoughs to paper/keyboard perfectly, not to far from My Dad :y
No problems here just Love mate :)

Den is one of my favourite people on here. He won't give in for the sake of a quiet life, yet doesn't resort to insults, no matter how frustrated. Now can we put this to bed.

I miss your posts as well Zulu, come back soon :y
