This story makes me so angry, I cant put it into words.
Johnny Ball is suffering a hateful campaign to destroy his life because he dared to challenge climate change.
These kind of tactics are ime employed by people who know they have lost the intellectual battle, but wont allow that or anything else to stand in the way of their bigotry/zealotry/ or gravy train.
Utterly outrageous! >:( >:( >:(

Uh oh :-X

Didn't David Bellamy similarly say much of the climate change claims were rubbish and then receive hatemail and discover he was no longer required by television producers?
Climate change is on the radar of the enviornment/animal protection/rights for plants wierdos, and let's face it if your point of view doesn't fit in with their nasty fascist mindset then you're a target that deserves the very worst behaviour they can dream up.

I am not suprised, but very dissapointed.
Has reasonned debate all but dissappeared? :-?
-
I think that behaviour such as this coupled with the disgrace of the climategate episode at the UEA must suggest that they know they cant win a reasoned debate, but the whole thing has snowballed to such proprtions that the amount of grants, taxes etc. tied to it have made it "too big to fail", so we now have desperate (and despicable) people doing desperate (and despicable) things. ;)

Yep. Too much invested in the myth for someone to come along and point out it's a load of boll...s. Either that or it has attained the status of a religion, and every religion has its' extremists. ;)

do Ostriches actually bury their heads in the sand or is that just a myth? :-?
-
A bit of both I suspect Kevin. :y
I still cant believe what lengths they have gone to, in order to discredit a 70 something low profile entertainer though, it suggests a degree of blind panic to me. Still outraged by what I read tbh, but maybe Im a bit naive as to how low people are willing to stoop. >:(

on one point i agree - there are some nutjobs out there and if this story is true, which i've no reason to doubt - then some people are clearly sick and deranged. Johnny Ball is entitled to believe anything he likes in my opinion, trying to intimidate him with a smear campaign is despicable.

Whilst ever the 'science' behind the religion of climate change, (or spring, summer, autumn and winter as it used to be known), is patchy at best, with little in the way of hard evidence, those of us who are not sheep will continue to cast our doubts over the whole thing.
At what point did it become wrong for folk to ask questions as opposed to believing everything that they are told?
Spanish Inquesition anyone?

See what I mean about it being a religion? ;)

that is the problem, for me it seemed at first to be loads of reports e.t.c and then all was just accepted overnight that the world is f&&ked so that we can have green taxes extra fuel duties and so on, personally i think the campaigners for this are very radical and unfortunately too many people listen to them, what we need is another real war where energy is needed as this seems to make things move pretty quickly!! i.e the internet!!

cool - we're OK then.....what a relief :y
