Pleasant enough car. Budget £300-£400 to put things right, do cambelt change, & other things not mentioned.

Garage clearly doesn't know what they are talking about though... as usual!

Estates are more sought after, but he is zero rated. Approach cautiously. I would expect it to sell for around £900

My garage says usually bu**shit in these occasions. 500-750max is what i would pay for it.

Thanks for that Mr Back, the car is not far from me, so i would view first anyway. Do you think the suspect oil leak from headgasket is in fact the cam covers?
Is it really worth £900 considering the work that he's mentioned and the bits you can't see?

The HG leak is likely cam gaskets. The dim LEDs in climate will be blown bulbs. The Low Beam will likely be knackered sensors, or broken adjusters.

I didn't say it is worth £900, rather that is what it is likely to sell for.

It needs cam covers sorting, headlight adjuster freeing up , new front discs and pads, probably cambelt & water pump, breathers cleaning and probably a few other things.

Carin sat nav was standard in Elites from 1998-2000 (mini facelifts).
As a system it is directional only and really not that good.

Bose on the other hand.....

Incidentally, Bose is a German mark and should actually be pronounced BO-ZEH... if you happen to be German, that is...  :)

I agree entirely with LB66 - that doesn't happen often ;)

The Carin is very, very dated, slow, pictorial rather than map display, clumsy, and cumbersome.

Bose, for a standard factory fit, is actually rather good...
