The atmosphere in jazz clubs just can't be the same since the smoking ban and I don't just mean literally  8-)

like albs and others instantly thought of the fast show!Though I can appreciate some jazz music-charlie parker/wes montgomery eg-must say I only really like the more soulful/bluesy stuff. All that (to me anyhow) messy, up -their-own-a*se, twiddly stuff that the fast show takes the mickey out of is just a turn off. Maybe Im just too simple in my musical tastes. Bit like satriani. May be technically brilliant but a lot of his stuff bores the hell out of me. What is it a lot of guitarists say, the simplest songs/riffs are often the best. Technique for techniques sake is how a lot of "jazz" sounds to me and it lacks the feel that music should provide. Still, if thats what these hip cats enjoy then "nice" man :y

I agree with every word of your post Jerry, describes exactly how I feel on jazz/Satriani etc. when its more blues than jazz I can listen, but....... :y

Diana Krall is superb........second only to Julie London and Barbra Streisand( prime years only)......Her sultry siren looks are an added bonus too.... :-* :-*
