I'm gathering information about possible camping spots in the UK.
Needs to be somewhere with beautiful scenery etc, somewhere that accepts Dogs, has showers, reasonably cheap to pitch a couple of tents etc.. and a pub within crawling distance that also accepts dogs and does nice food!
Information about two or three different spots would be nice.
Anywhere in the UK. North, south, scotland.. etc
Suggestions welcome

You could try a place in Eype, Dorset
Its called Highlands End....web site

Situated on the Cliffs.....very dog friendly area....havent found a pub that wont let dogs in.
Theres a bar/resturant on the site...showers/shop/etc
I usually stay in a static van or sometimes go to a site a few miles down the road.....but that one only has static vans.....no tents.
Worth a butchers id have thought :y

Sorry forgot to mention it is near Woolacombe, and the tent field over looks the sea

Woolacombe's not a bad spot. Endless beaches and dunes to walk on, and not far from Exmoor, which is my favourite spot for "getting away from it all".
Not been camping in the Uk much recently. Can recommend a lovely place near Le Mans though ;-)

I am off to Gosforth this weekend in the Lake District, worked out at £13 each for 3 nights, with the car and tent. Not sure on pets... will find out.
Looks a nice area, this is just about 1 mile away:

Weather is not looking good for this weekend though.... :-/

If you're planning on climbing Scafell it won't matter as you'll be in the misty clouds most of the time - wrap up warm and dry :y

Sligachan camp site on Isle Skye is good, pub within crawling distance, scenery is spectacular, very busy up there over the next week as loads of climbers go up there, the drives good aswell as the scenerey on the way up there.
Check this link out, I have been there quite a few times, normally used to go there at the end of this week for 1 weeks climnbing every year, know the guy Duncan that owns the hotel, well worth a visit.

Get hold of a book called "Cool Camping".

Just googled scafell, looks like a fun climb. I do like my walking, walked all over New York and Washington DC, always like taking the dog out.
I intend to drag my mates up there too, more than welcome to come along James, make sure you bring some extra lady friends... ;)

They sell that book in Millets (although I see its a good bit cheaper on Amazon). I can vouch for the one on the front cover. Its in Patterdale/Lake District - fantastic location.
