I recon its time I bought a code reader (car being broke is purely coincidental!). Any recomendations, ;) or which ones to avoid :o ?

Right, seriously, options are:
Generic OBDII (£50) - should be able to read your engine codes, and attempt reset
Cheapo Tech2 lead (£30) - should be able to read most onboard systems. Buggy, unreliable software. Sometimes refuses to read some systems. Needs a fastish laptop with proper COM1
Opelscan (£250) - not seen on in action, though looks promising.
Tech2 (£3k+) - the real deal, as used by dealers. Can do the lot, including software updates. Needs a £1k per year subscription to TIS2000 to keep updated.

It can now do software updates? What systems can it update? Where do you get the updates?
