assuming there's nothing else wrong, it's probably worth about £1800-£2000 fixed up ... allowing for parts that's about £1k to be made ...  ;)

I could see an Estate facelift going for a little more... maybe slightly above 2k.

I would love to have that, but off to the Lake District on Saturday and lack of funds.. means no go  :(

Unless you would like to loan me some money Fin? Give me £750, and you will get £850 back  ;)

Sorry guys, can't agree here, something very fishy about that...

The seller is not the original owner and they know what the problem is, yet they don't want to fix it...
Oh, and just a mobile number with a picture not near any identifying house...

I wouldn't touch it!

In all seriousness, if you are viewing a car away from owners house, there is a spate of assults, whereby the buyer has the utter cr@p kicked out of them, and the purchase money stolen.  Some of these assults appear to be very serious - apparently one will be on crimewatch next week, chap almost left for dead.

I would take my wife, even Mike Tyson would think twice about having a go ;D ;D

the same can happen when selling a car if you're required to travel with it

i took a (stupid) chance of driving my corsa to walton in liverpool after a guy said he really wanted it and couldnt get transport to me that day, he said he'd pay my train/taxi back, basically his brothers were his transport when he came to view it, they tried to put him off buying it, so he didnt want them there when he bought it, hence they wouldnt bring him!

i was completely aware of the possible problems i may have faced, and therefore got a lift off my brother and took back up!

the guy turned out to be genuine and still paid me petrol money for my brother!

I can understand what you're saying, but here's a car with full index plate on show (which comes up correctly on the DVLA site). The tax is due to expire at the end of the month - so that could be the reason the owner wants to get shot of it.

Common sense needs to dictate actions. Just take the usual security precautions, i.e. don't view at night, or alone.

Personally, I wouldn't read too much into the fact that you can't see a house in the photo. Maybe he was took the photos at work on his mate's camera. Who knows?

This could be dodgy, or it could be a gem. Until more details are found out, it's just pure speculation.

Don't tell me Gertrude got in there while everyone else was cogitating.

Nah, you're winding us up!  ;)

No he is winding us up, Fin is choosy on what he buys, and if it is slightly dodgy, he leaves it...
