What a fascinating programme.... SWMBO was fixated on it, although I'm not convinced that Professor Brian Cox wasn't key in that :-/ ;D
But in all seriousness... What a fascinating programme. I can't wait 'till next week! He just has a wonderful way of explaining things in simple terms :y :y :y

Did he say how an Omega works? ;D
I may have to watch it. Is it for men as well? I thought he was female eye-candy.

It depends on how interested you are in Space and Time, Past, Present and future ;)
It was absolutely fascinating and I'm surprised that nobody else watched it :-? :-?

watched the first half hour on iplayer, excellent so far :y
-
Taped it, I find all this stuff fascinating as well, and you're right, Brian Cox is a good storyteller. Been looking forward to seeing this one :y
-
Yeah, saw most of it - my kind of programme.
Mrs TB can't watch it, as its that new 'trendy telly' of camera man always panning around the presenter, and lots of camera movement, which knackers up her vertigo.
As to him being lady-tottie, I think he's an ugly bugger...

A great programme indeed! :y :y :y :y :y :y :y
But the presenter? Not eye candy for me I'm afraid, as his constant sugary smile annoys me intensely and I feel like slapping him around the face! :o :o :o :o :o ::) ::) ;)
But I see through all that and just enjoy a fascinating subject being wonderfully presented 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

Although I don't suffer from this debilitating condition I completely agree with her - it's a pain in the arse and makes these shows unwatchable for me.

I think it's to accommodate the younger generation who have been brought up to have the attention-span of a golf-ball. Anything static and they lose interest. I agree with the sentiments expressed but if the purpose is to make it simple for those who find taking-in information difficult, they probably need to consider our poorly-developed youth.

Yes, I think you've got it there Chris.
As far as I can see there's something radically wrong if young people need to be motivated by quickly moving images, bright colours, 'jive-speak' and inordinately loud music (not necessarily where this show is concerned, but in general).

Made all the more annoying when it's broadcast on a low-bandwidth "minority" (no celebrity or sport interest) Sky / Freeview channel where the last thing you need is a load of movement to promote MPEG artifacts. >:(

Form of video compression, sadly Sky opt for more channels being broadcast rather than less with better quality image compression :(

you don't really notice it in the normal shite like Eastenders, but when you've got something with high-res graphics solid colour background and a lot of movement it shows up a lot more.
If they moved the P frames closer together would improve things, but that costs bandwidth :(

you know, i suspected they'd downgraded the normal picture when HD came out, to make HD look comparatively better......i'm just naturally suspicious tho ;)

They may well have done it to free up bandwidth for the HD channels, of course, or to add a few more of those really compelling shopping / religion channels which we all watch so avidly. ::)
As with all Murdoch media, quality is inversely proportional to intellectual content. ;D
