A very big thank you to Elite Pete (http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?action=viewprofile;username=725B5E43526867524352370) for servicing my 2.5TD.
I had been able to do most bits and bobs that needed doing, but a couple of bits were beyond my patience and tool collection.
Within a week of sending him a PM (http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?action=imsend;to=7E57524F5E646B5E4F5E3B0), I found myself drivng 215 miles from Essex to Cheshire, and we spent the day chatting and doing the things that needed doing - Automatic Gearbox Oil and Filter Change, Induction Manifold Gasket Change to cure an oil leak, Glow Plug Change, Fuel Filter Change, and complete flush of the cooling system and replace radiator and water pump to cure an overheating issue. Whilst doing this, we checked and cleaned out the Condenser and Fans too.
His knowledge of Omegas, and in particular the BMW Diesel engine is immense. This is coupled with all the right tools and a workshop location at which to do the job. He even bought me lunch!
I will have no hesitation in visiting him again, his rates were embarassingly low, and he even let me pop back a couple of days later (I had stayed up that wasy visiting friends) to finish what we couldn't get done in daylight - mainly due to me adding in little jobs whilst we were there.
