Title: Wish me luck...
Post by: Omega_Dan on 27 February 2011, 18:28:22
Redundancies are being announced over tomorrow and tuesday at my work.

Work in the Construction Industry.

Already had my letter saying redundacies are going to be made. All i know is that they are reducing our section from 8 to 4 people.

Having a 9 week old daughter to provide for i am already scouting the internet for jobs if the worst happened.

Stressed or what :-/

Look Dan. It's no good worrying until it happens and once it's happened it's too late to worry. Don't worry.

mate real sorry to hear that.

best thing to do is hope for the best and plan for the worst. get yourself to the agency straight away if youre one of the unlucky ones.

Well after seeing various staff going in to offices today to be spoken too and seeing many tears and upset from colleagues who have had bad news and relief from people whos jobs were ok. Im sorry to say guys and gals that my news was bad and as off the end of March i wont have a job.

Will decide whether to leave earlier and take my holiday or work till the end of the month.

Ah well, life goes on ;)

Best get looking for some work ;)

I'm impressed with your attitude mate, it's gutting to lose your job, but you don't seem to be too downhearted about it. I really hope you find something soon, I'm absolutely sure you will :y

Dan, Sorry to hear your news and hopefully it will turn out to be another door opens as this one closes - Ref your company laptop - when you have your next meeting with the bosses just ask to keep it - once they reformat the hard drive so that all their licensed software is stripped off - It is either minimal or no value to the company and I have never left a job yet without taking the laptop - they usually feel pretty bad that they are letting you go so they let you keep it  :y

Back in the day I used to volunteer to stretch them for her mike, as she always bought 'small' smalls. These days she has trouble finding enough pegs to fix them to the line! ::) ;D ;D ;D ;D
