Title: Forte Bio Degreaser - Where are you?!?
Post by: Markie on 21 May 2007, 23:00:38
Apparently this is the best thing you an use on head gasket failure and oil cooler failure to flush the coolant system.

Anyone used it?

And more importantly can anyone find it for sale? theres NONE ON EBAY and i cant find anyone local that stocks it.

Ive checked Forte`s website and ive got the right item but they dont sell to the public from website.

Ive also heard this is what Vauxhall use on such engine failures.....

Hmmmmm come out come out where ever you are !!

Forte sell direct to trade so why not ask Vx Dealer if they can sell you a tin?

thats plan b - ive managed to find a place in the last few minutes that sell it for around £11 a tin, and there only 5 miles away.

Problem is there out of stock  :( will ring them in the morning see if i can pop along and grab some when its in stock.

Failing that its off to Vx to steal some  :o

Good it is but, it cant clear something thats blocked.....because it needs to be able to at least flow over the gunge to dissolve it....

Get the rad out....if you need advice on how let me make some enquiries.

Any advice would be really appreciated....the v6 is not covered by Haynes and the other site has offered no feedback on the vectra.

Due to the way the engine is fitted ( as i am sure you know) the radiator is under the slam panel and there is about 4 inches between the radiator and the exhaust manifolds...you also have the lack of access to split air conradiator from rad and then theres the fans too...so i am not sure it can be pushed back and forced upwards..

I think you need access to a version of TIS......

Its removing the rad fan thats the hard bit......then the rads easy.

Been toying with this today, the vectra is taking in more fluid from drain ( about 3 litres max compared to an initial 2 litres) but still not enough - i reckon it should be taking more like 5 litres max

Still getting too hot whilst the rad is still cold, still no hot air through heaters, but the coolant level warning now gone ...there are signs of improvememnt but not quick enough....

Sure i have a version of TIS somewhere so will look it out.. :y
