Nice plane. :y :y

Its certinaly nice looking, but its a cheap-ass American attempt at Europes A380, they have kept the body the same, just streched it and added some beefier wings....
Interesting size chart here:

Agreed Tunnie, and it was not long ago that Boeing stated large 747s or, interestingly at the time, Airbus 380s, were no longer wanted by the airlines, and thus proceeded to build the Dreamliner. Boeing panicked when predictions didn't go their way, and they needed a new 747! This is the version produced by panick!! ::) ::) ::) ::)
Of course last year Airbus, for the first time, outstripped Boeing for aircraft sales! ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)
Still a lovely looking aircraft though 8-) 8-) 8-) :y

I don't think it's a "cheap-ass" attempt. There are many good reasons for making a derivative aircraft rather than starting out on a whole new airframe. Beoing have, after all, djone it with the 737-800, which it sells by the bucket load. The 747-8 has a much narrower wingspan than the A380, meaning that it can operate to any airport that can currently handle the 747-400. The A-380 is somewhat limited in that respect. Interestingly, Lufthansa have ordered both the A380 and 747-8. Talk about hedging your bets! ;) ;D

Impressive looking machine although the wingset isn't quite as elegant the A380 but nonetheless an impressive machine. :y
