Title: Vxon
Post by: Mysteryman on 14 March 2011, 13:43:10
Vxon are now offering Vauxhall trade club membership. At £15 a year, it's cheaper than ABS and, of course, is vauxhall dedicated.
But don't expect the level of help and witty banter you get on here, I'm just saying it's another way to a trade card.

yes, had the email earlier...they were promising those before OOF was started....so only a 5 year turnaround  ;D

I would still much rather give my support to ABS. ;)

any reason why OOF can't be made into a formal owner's club like ABS?

some of the VBOA Requirements go against the OOF ethos so we do not qualify

Before discovering OOF many years ago I tried to join VxON.  I did not receive the confirmation email and despite several emails to the webmaster I am still waiting to this day.  I even tried with another email but that failed.  No one from that site has ever wanted to help me. >:(

So opps em, I would rather support an organisation that is there as an enthusiasts club such as ABS.

Besides, I found OOF.  Easily one of the best finds on the web :y

The less I have to do with those people over at VxON, the better. So I won't be recommending them to anyone.  They have been promising TC cards for years, happily taking the money, and never providing what was promised.

I spent a half hour browsing over there today, as I normally do about once a year. It hasnt changed much since last year. ;)
Having said that, they probably wouldnt nick my near 12000 post count on the word of a notoriously dishonest scouser.Might go and join up. :P

Didnt see this thread about it till i had already posted mine.
Cheers to whoever locked it.

I've just joined vxon today, they say membership pack will be in post sometime later in the week.
They put through the first bulk memberships tonight.

I was a member on there before but did not bother with membership, trade club swung me though lol.
And its just easy, no forms etc.

right,
email from admin telling me that my membership pack is in the post already, which is good.
But, from the research i have done, it seems no one from VXON will be able to use the trade club website login facility.

VXON have secured a Trade Club number themselves...which is ....i cant tell you lol.
But that's it.

We just have to use that when buying or quoting at dealership or on the phone....
So whilst its easier to register with VXON, the lack of access to trade club site and free roam of prices etc is a bit annoying...

ah well, they lucky to have got access at all. I'm sure website will come in time.

ABS - £20 a year : Trade Club Card, Trade Club Internet Access, "Straight Six" club magazine. All working and proved for several years.

VXON - £15 a year : After many years Trade cards are appearing, no internet access, no magazine.

For the sake of £5 ..... I know where I'm staying .. :)

Do you have a card of some description with the TC number on it? If not, you might find many dealers will laugh. Getting them to take a genuine, trade based TC card can often be a challenge.

Good luck with it :y

Cheeky tinkers, they've been pocketing the money for the last 5+ years, at least 3 of those promising full TC access - least they could do is stump up the bloody postage. Its not the money bit, its them making their members jump through the hoops.

Still, good news on the card

The end of the day mr o-meg-a you won't get any joy on here when mentioning VxON

History lesson, this place stated after an argument with the then VxON staff.

The fact the management has changed, the fact they had Halfords trade cards (which many members on here have/had), the fact they didn't sell the membership on having TC will always be ignored.

Even the ONLY officially recognised Vauxhall forum VxDC (or VXLSCC as it was or VPCC as it started) took 14 months to get TC, its hardly suprising it takes everyone else - Vectra-C.com for one - a long while to get it.

VxDC, Vectra-C.com and as far as i'm aware Migweb don't have direct trade club website access, so it appears ABS is the exception not the rule

As TC is OPTIONAL dealers don't have to offer it, you can have any number of TC account numbers they still might not accept it.

My experience, go in mention trade club and they pick one off the system to save having to set up a new one

If i were you i'd give it up and move on, and use the knowledge of the poeple here with fixing your Omega when it goes wrong, and it will, and never mention VxON again

 :y  ;D

I don't have a trade card, however when I go into my local VX place they know me, and give me trade prices anyway.

If you cultivate them, always go to one place, they will soon recognise this and prices will drop.

Thats not entirely correct. For the first 2.5yrs (at least) they did claim that TC cards were part of the offer, always promising that the cards would 'come soon'. I would say that was fraudulent, as they knew damn well the time it takes to get them. Or they are very stupid. Jury's still out on that one.

I really couldn't give a rats arse who joins VxON, or what VxON get up to. I really do not care. My recommendation for TC will continue to be ABS, who have an honest, dedicated commitee, and slick operation. This will not change until such time they start messing people around.

I don't have a trade card, however when I go into my local VX place they know me, and give me trade prices anyway.

If you cultivate them, always go to one place, they will soon recognise this and prices will drop.

I too have found this to be the case. Also I no longer have to pre pay for special order parts either. Genuine parts often end up cheaper than Factor items. ie Aircon condenser vx £210 plus vat, factor £250 plus vat. A £50 saving. Which is nice  ;D

As well as the Omega, we run 3 Vectras, only one of which is still in warranty. After the Parts counter, I have more contact with the Sales staff than the Service peeps. :D
