Title: ..and now a £4bn bill from Portugal
Post by: Nickbat on 24 March 2011, 12:10:26
Yes, folks, we will likely have to stump up £4bn to bail out Portugal. :o

http://conservativehome.blogs.com/thinktankcentral/2011/03/open-europe-says-that-britain-could-pay-over-four-billion-euros-to-help-bail-out-portugal.html

Do we have any say in the matter? No.  >:(
Those clever Eurocrats have amended the rules by sleight of hand to "avoid having referendums in certain countries". ::)

Incidentally, please note that the MEP speaking in the clip has just gained immunity for prosecution. (Guess what for?)

Shows why the so-called Referendum Lock trumpeted by Will Hague was a load of old tosh. And the Bill to slip the amendment through Westminster unnoticed has already been published passed. >:(

And people STILL want us to be part of the EU?

You are right Nick. We have sleep walked into this.

However my question is " is the £4billion we are likely to stump up forfeit or do we get it back plus interest?"

If the latter then it might just be good business. We seem to have money available at the drop of a hat for worthwhile causes like yet more wars, Ireland bailout. etc

So do I, we are growing in numbers. Everyone is welcome to join in. If enough people start voting against this madness, the ruling parties will have to start taking action to reverse the process. :y
