Title: Good news regarding recent truck RTC.
Post by: Amigo on 29 March 2011, 21:04:31
Gaffer phoned me today & said it's gone to a knock for a knock ins. wise which is the news we wanted. She's rushed to a fly by night claim everything under the sun brief who is now clutching at straws trying to say i was driving with undue care & attention, no police prosecutions & personal injuries, namely whiplash. These plastic solicitors go in first with that one as it's a quick £2000. She tried to get in front of me on my offside, no rear collision hence no whiplash, tacho shows i was barely moving.
These litigation only no win no fee setups should be barred from practice. :(

i completely avoided them when i got wiped out by a lorry on the M6.
totaled my car, not a scratch on the lorry, and i hit another car, girlfriend got whiplash and i was rather disturbed by the whole thing.

He admitted fault...but there was no undue care and attention filed....although that's debatable.

Anyway,
I ended up claiming myself through their insurance.
Negotiating for myself and they were quite fair,
gave me £1500 straight up and my girlfriend £2000.
I personally think it should have been more.

Those companies don't do anything that those involved cant do themselves.

but to claim when you're not due anything and youre not hurt....tis just taking advantage of the situation. I get it, but its not fair on those who are not at fault.

I would agree with that - they should be regulated out of existence.
