I seem to recall that gambling always does well in a recession..

In my job we work with a lot of the online gambling companies - they are hiring hard at the moment, so times must be very good..

Bookmakers are Vultures who will allways do well no matter how bad the current economic climate is.

Did you know that all of the big boy's such as Ladborkes and Coral make more money from their in store Roulette machines then they do from horse racing and greyhound racing combined!!!!!   :o :o :o

Even when the racing has finished the shops stay open just to accommadate all of the Roulette addicts.

I know that nobody force's them to walk into a bookmakers and gamble away all of their wages on a machine.
However what I feel is an absolute disgrace is that a lot of these shops have "free competions".

They have these special days where you can have free turns on the machines, and the person with the highest score/profit at the end of the day gets a free £20 bet to place on any sport that he wants.
I've even seen members of staff standing outside shops in all their promotional gear asking passing members of the public if they would like to come in and have a go.

They are only having these competitions to get new people hooked on their addictive machines.
I really do find that disgusting  >:( >:( >:(

I was talking to an ex-manageress of a local Coral's shop a while back.

She said that when she was working there......her little shop on it's own was clearing £25'000 a week profit just off the roulette machines.

And their was only 3 machines in her shop.....scary eh!!! :o :o :o

The worse the economy the better the time for gambling companies.
People will always hope more for luck in hard times and gambling companies exploit this
