Just heard that on the radio news. Far too young to die. :(
-
Sad news and indeed, 56 seems to be far too young.
-
cripes, no age at all really. :o
-
Blimey, that is a shock!! :o :o :o He was younger than me!! ::) ::) ::) ::)
Very sad to hear though the early demise of such a great businessman who had a vision :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
-
pointless. all that money, sucess and drive (no pun intended) ,cannot help you when your numbers up. :(
-
Didnt realise he was that young. Possibly stress induced illness ? It cant have been easy to build and run a company like that from scratch. At least he fulfilled his ambitions and made something of his life while he was here.
-
i think from the news he was second generation, but put the business where it is.

He was a bully, and as he got bigger his bullying increased.. :-X Successful yes, but at what cost to independent haulage companies ::) Could easily be argued either way........ :) :)

yes i agree. it take a certain type to make it big, usually involves little concern for stepping on others.

Yes "steady" Eddie started the company
but Edward made it what it is today
-
ironic that his life was limited to 56

Yes, it's confusing ..........
His father is Eddie, though the deceased is actually 'Edward'.
-
Apparently a film is being made about his life. It looks quite good, I've seen the trailer!! ;D :-X
He ducks and waits for the abuse...........................
I'll get me coat

Now that is rather class, Karl. I wish I'd said that ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
STMO,I think there will be some articulated speeches at his funeral ;D
-
I got a job driving for Eddie Stobart...........I asked if I could put my ex-wife's name on the front of my truck. They wouldn't let me, because apparently, "Fat, Money-grabbing, Lazy old bitch" doesn't fit on a Scania grille! ;D

they have decieded not to bury him...they're following company tradition..they're gonna cut him up on the m6
