Bought a rotary clothes line in B&Q last week to fit an existing hole in the ground.
Hole is fractionally too small, but is about 12 years old.
Current smallest diameter pole seems to be 32mm, but hold is only 30mm. Does anyone know if the standard diameter size has changed at all over the last decade?
As the current one is set in concrete it might as well be 2 metres out let along 2mm.
Any ideas?

every manufacturer seems to have their own standard :'(

We had the same problem. The new Brabantia pole cam with a 'hammer-it-in-the-ground' spiked sleeve for the ground so have just hammered that one in somewhere near the old one.
One day I might remove it & concrete in upright ::)

I am sure the engineers on here will put me right ... but what I would do, on the assumption the old hole is in the right place and straight, is make a cut across the diameter of the new pole, which will allow it to fit inside the smaller hole .... the hammer the thing home ---- if it stands it will never come out again though.

I've located a specialist company who I'll call on monday & see if anything is on the market with a smaller hole.
Thanks guys ............

Drill a bigger hole ::) ::)

use your local windfarm instead..

Sorted.
A Homebase one was the right size - i.e. 32mm
The B&Q one marked 32mm was actually 36mm!
-
Be careful I ended up in A and E due to one of those!

Regardless of the diameter the real name for these things is Whirly gig!!!!! :y

try to ream the hole a larger diameter :y

give it a clout with the biggest hammer you got :y :y :y
