Its a large car, capable of shifting large loads. Decent engine with plenty of mid range power, but thirsty in this day and age of high petrol prices

The Omega estate has a huge amount of boot space when the seats are down I think its over six feet long.
Another thing is what have you being used to driving and putting fuel in? If you are used to 56 mpg your in for a shock. Knocking around you will get about 23mpg, 30 odd on a run at sensible speeds. Obviously a heavy foot brings down the mpg.  :y

Welcome to the forum  :y To add to what has been said the Elite comes with lots of toys and is a very comfortable mile munching machine. with Bose ice as standard. A well built motor that if it had a three pointed star or BMW badge on the bonnet instead of a griffin would command considerably higher resale prices. With the Omega you get a lot of bang for your bucks. Yes it has it's faults but show me a car that doesn't

Try to find one with some service history & check when the cambelt kit & waterpump was last done. Big job, 40k or 4 years.

Hope you find a good'un & we want piccies when you do, Guy. :y

If the seller can't prove a cambelt change it gives you some leverage to negotiate the price downwards by several hundred pounds :y

True enough Tony. Also folk on here can help out with cambelt changes so argue the point with any seller. Tell him the 4 year 40k rule.

Let him know you know. Also check he's used good semi synthetic oil & pink antifreeze/coolant...NOT BLUE!!! :y

Before you go have a long read of this thread ...

http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1189022687

Learn how to do it, and what the lights mean, as well as all the other dashboard lights. It is, unfortunately, fairly common for some folks to remove bulbs in order to mask faults. ... if the EML light is not working ... walk away....  :y

If the seller won't let you check .....  walk away  :y

If the check shows up any codes ...  have a serious think ......
