I didn't realise we'd ever had trolleybusses like that in this country..
They still have them over in Seattle - quite spectacular when the overhead cable snaps :o

Surely the plural of "trollybus" is "trollybusi" ... not "trolleybusses" .. :(

I was under the impression that if something was thought to be 'silent but deadly' the reference was directed towards an entirely different experience. ;D
You are correct all the same OM2, as a kid I remember the whoosh as they sped along the road and the chirrups (and occasional flash) from line junctions as the conducting booms made contact with them.

I can just about remember them as a young child in Newcastle.. :) I remember tram lines as well, but not trams themselves... :-/ :-/
