Mine goes in on Friday....s-i-l taking it to his works garage to do a brake fluid change (TB's advice), then to the garage that does their MOT's.
After the condition report from WIM on my last visit, I am keeping a positive mind. :y
Having a second car does take the pressure off a bit. :y

The Vauxhall garage in my town is offering half price mot's at £27 so i thought about going there , however i always like to go somewhere that has nothing to gain by failing it so i always go to a place that just does tyres although i have to pay the full price .
I can imagine Mr Vx saying it needs xyz and it just so happens we have them in stock  ::)

I always go to the local mot/garage who always charge full price but the tester is very fair and uses his common-sense - for example last year it failed on wrong colour bulbs, he just replaced them and charged me a couple of quid and passed it.
Having said that I entered the car for it's MOT recently fully expecting it to fail as one of the rear springs appeared to be missing about an inch or two off the bottom link - it passed with a couple of advisory's.
Either he missed it or I need to visit spec-savers again  ;D, still got a pair of KYB springs sitting in the garage - do I keep or sell - decisions........decisions  :-/

I agree with you, I take my car to my local and trusted independent garage for the MOT who takes it to another local garage who do MOT's but know that any repair work will be done by the original independent, both of whom I have known since school... :y :y
