It's the original escape ladder (refurbished), I've still got all the bardic lamps, helmets, stretcher, BA sets etc

I'll have you know it's fully kitted out with more kit than a modern day fire appliance, and it's faster too! It has charged BA cylinders, hydraulic cutting equipment, first aid, 3 foam systems 2main ladders and all the others, more than enough hose, hose gear and small gear, comms, lights, sirens, ancillart BA equipment, anything and everything you can think of, just for when the darker days of society come! :y And they're coming!

V8 POWER WOOO!

I haven't got any pics of the lockers, next time I go to visit it I'll take some pics, she'll be pleased to see me.

It's one of the conditions of free tax, yes free tax, and MOT exemption status - hahahahahahaha take that DVLA!!! - is that because it's classed as a fire engine it has to be ready to fight a fire! This is a better machine and better equipped than the shed Volvo FL6 we've just got rid of at work!

ISTR the Dennis factory is in Harlow or nearby. I only remembered because that's where my dad is from and it's where they have the Dennis shows. They sent us a full hard copy of the manual, along with the accelerator cable that cost £90 eh!

So is this your own Fire Engine or one you use in the Service?

This is mine, well mine and my dads. It's from 1982 believe it or not. It looks new-ish from the front to the untrained eye, but of course the ladders on the rear give it away. The last of the pump escapes!

We've got a '62 Bedford TJ with a petrol 5 Litre? Straight 6 crash g/box - sounds like my old senator 12v. And a '52 Commer pump escape bullnose petrol 3.8 straight 6 with crash box. Used to have a '52 Dennis with a Rolls Royce petrol straight 8, an awesome engine that was!

The spoilsports! This is used for other things, i.e. little errands but it's all in the name of topography, water supply familiarisation, sunday drives, risk area familiariation etc, so all for training to fight fires! :y

We went at looked at a few Green Goddessess! They have the same engine as the TJ but on the TL chassis I believe - slightly bigger. Very basic and not as much character - still good though but overpriced. I crewed the green goddessess on the fire strikes when i was in Northern Ireland - we didn't need hose we needed shields hahahahaaha, although they were painted yellow over there and had window grilles!

MPG can't be worse than 10!

We live and learn.... ::) ::) I am on the sniff for a toy at the moment, not sure what yet, something will jump up and shout at me, often dreamed of a green goddess, but not sure of the practicalities.... :-/ :-/

In a few years once I've sorted myself out I'll be on the hunt for one of the russian militray trucks, the names escape me, but the prime movers that pull the ICBMs across Red Square, the same as the ones seen in North Korea - torque figure of 2200 lb/ft enough to pull a house down!. Or if I'm really lucky a topol-m mover - type topol m in youtube and you'll get the idea! I've got the storage and other necessities in hand, I just need time and the right one to crop up now! wooooooooooooooooooooooo :-/
