Title: internal multitasking today
Post by: hotel21 on 05 May 2011, 12:05:58
Was going to take the hound for a walk on the hills today but awoke to an overcast sky and drizzle rain.  As I wrapped around breakfast, it got heavier so decided I now have to:-

Finish stripping 20 years of overcoated woodchip from the rear bedroom then making good the surface where it was bodged over last time it was decorated.

Replace the kitchen door on the washing machine space in the kitchen after removal last week for a repair.

Make sure my T2 is working properly, now that I know whats potentially wrong with it (ta, TB & KW)

Hoover house top to bottom.

Check over the FJ for tyre pressures, chain, lights etc for its first proper 'out' this year.

Ironing basket needs emptying.

Not played CoD on the Xbox for yonks.

Catch up with almost 300 e-mails after having a week or so away at the tin tent last weeks long weekend.

Prepare and cook dinner.

Sort out some ratpack bits for Tunnie which i meant to do a couple of weeks ago - sorry Tunnie....   :-[

Do some OOFing when on tea breaks.

who says blokes cant multitask!

(better get started then, I suppose.....)   ;D

How many of these tasks will be done simultaeously then?

Or will it be a case of starting one then needing a tool, going to the garage for it and seeing a hub that needs attention but remembering that you need to put the washing machine on but on the way to do that seeing weeds that need sorting so get the bucket but can't find the gloves. Wonder if they are in the wash?................ Might as well go on the X box till the wash has finished.

At end of day (as usual) had a hectic day

Can we have a sit rep update!  :y

door back on kitchen unit.

dinner in oven, should be ready nicely for 6 pm.  (slow cooked shin of beef in onion gravy, getting served with mashed spuds & peas)

dog walked again.

had some lunch and watched the end of a classic war film. (Battle of the Bulge)

done some OOFing.

My problem is if I leave one task and go to start another.. I've usually forgotten what the first one was by the time I've made it to the location of the second one ;D

Wife is away in Cornwall ( many times down to see her sick father in past year who died this week - but actually a merciful release for him as they say) - looked at full linen basket - discovered where washing machine is - did quick maths - and took the lot to chinese girl at Farnborough station. Pick up tomorrow.

Organised house to sleep 10 on Roseland Peninsula, Cornwall for funeral for FIL and a wedding for niece just 3 days later - quite wierd really.

Phoned Tameside hospital in Manchester where my  mother has just been admitted with heart failure -  I was in Manchester to take her in at 1 am last Sunday morning) - she is progressing well thankfully. Phoned my dad aged 90 (and now on his own plus carers morning and night) to make sure he is ok - he has his 10 cigars a day plus his guinness so he is doing his own multi-tasking - in fact if he has these items he doesn't give a s**t.

Just returned from meeting at All Hallows by the Tower in London to arrange the Memorial Service for a friend who died recently aged 48. We expect over a 100 on the day next month.

Oh and drive being relaid at home - should be finished today - it all happens at once!!

By the way - the "pick up tomorrow" reference in my previous post meant the washing and not the chinese girl. The Ageism in wine bars thread got to me eventually.

Damn.. I was going to ask you which station, but now you've said that it's much less interesting!
