Title: Does NI need a hand counting?
Post by: Banjax on 06 May 2011, 18:16:26
whats the deal, everyone else in the UK's pretty much done and dusted - yet they've barely begun counting across the water......is there a problem? Have you lost keys or something?  :)

They were running late with the extensive vetting process to ensure that those counting the ballots were free from political prejudice, their numbers reflected even representation from each side of the religious divide and their antecedents did not highlight any untoward links with unsavoury political institutions or organisations.

It’s par for the course when you try to accommodate every possible opinion in an effort to circumvent any objections or allegations that would expose the arses of Electoral Office functionaries or bring the electoral system into disrepute - rather than having a modicum of common sense and just getting on with things.

In summation - all very European and proper, I would think. :y
