Should there be a scintilla of truth however it has to be said that many in the United States, in those and earlier times, were prone to a bit of movement without thinking too much about why.
A prime example (already mentioned in that Telegraph piece);

The Drake equation suggests that the universe is fizzing with intelligent life. I believe this to be highly likely. :y
