To his credit, he hardly flinched. ;) ;D

He certainly dodged that bullet.
Here's another lucky fellow:

Neither did the culprit! Carried on with his drill like a good wee soldier..... :y
-
And even a blank will have hurt (and could kill) at that range :o :o :o
One lucky chappie :y :y
-
Blanks surely? But even so... :(. Wouldn't trust the guy behind with that bayonet either. :-/. ;D
-
Methinks both lucky chaps need to check their under garments for accidental seepage !! ;) ;)

jeees bet that parted his hair :o I hoped they checked his scalp for powder burns :o

Far Canal. :( :(
Negligent discharges are dangerous bastids and the dull sound of some idiot discharging their pistol into the clearance pit as they tried to make safe was a blood curdling experience I've had the displeasure of having on more than one occasion. [smiley=thumbdown.gif]

I knew someone in the 70,s who was walking along a street in castlederg, doing a bit of shopping on a Saturday. Someone took a shot at a RUC patrol and the bullet went between her fingers and caused a very nasty burn as it passed. Doesnt get much closer.

Once upon a time, I understood they used Blank Firing Attachments that were supposed to stop that happening, why stop ?.

Was on the receiving end of one particularly memorable ND from a colleague when doing a house turn, back in the day of the pump action cut down Remingtons with dubblo buck/rifled slug/hatton rounds.
My reaction was like Tackleberry from Police Academy..... :o
Good job the baddies had moved on and we managed to establish the ND into a concrete wall of the dwellinghouse, rather than out the window into the scheme.... :-?

BFA's allow a sufficiency of gas back pressure to allow the working parts to function and pull in the next blank. If you watch the vid, the chap in slot 3 in the back row does not fire when commanded as he has already shot his lot...... :-[

Aye that was the thing about blokes being tooled up all the time - for some of them complacency set in, and in a fair few of those cases, I wouldn't have entrusted the individuals to get a pint never mind carry a weapon.

BWAAAA!
Having seen a few ND's too, even being in that close proximity of a blank can cause "botty juice"................
Still bloomin' professional though.
I'm impressed!

I was sent this earlier, and, call me an old cynic, but it looks very suspicious, watch his right hand as it goes off. :y
